Mosquito Vector Workshop in Lubbock, May 8
Warmer weather means the potential for mosquitoes! This may be cause for alarm as a recent study by the CDC shows that diseases from mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas have tripled over the last decade. Increasing temperatures may be one of the main reasons behind this jump. For example, higher temperatures allow ticks to move into new areas and mosquitoes to breed faster.
Learn more about mosquito biology, illnesses transmitted by mosquitoes and what you can do to protect yourself at this year's Mosquito Vector Workshop in Lubbock on May 8. It starts at 8:00am at the Agrilife Research and Education Center in Lubbock and will offer 5 CEUs.

Spanish and English Auxin Trainings this Week in Lubbock

Auxin training tomorrow, Apr 24, in Lubbock
Texas A&M Agrilife Extension is conducting auxin herbicide training (English language) tomorrow, April 24th, at 10:00am. It will take place at the Lubbock County Extension office, 916 Main Street, Suite 401.
It will last 1 hour and have NO registration fee. It provides 1 TDA continuing education unit (CEU) on laws and regulations.
*The next training will be Tuesday, May 1 at 10:00am and will be conducted in Spanish.

Wheat Freeze Injury?
Dr. Calvin Trostle, agronomist with Texas A&M Agrilife Extension, is hosting a Wheat Freeze Injury Assessment Clinic next Thursday, April 26. It will be at 9:00am at Attebury Grain in Tulia, 1205 NW 5th St.
Bring your samples if you would like some help assessing damage, or have questions about this year's wheat!

Stored Grain Pest Workshop - Friday, April 27 in Lubbock
Next Friday, April 27, 2018 is the annual Lubbock County Stored Grain Pest Workshop hosted by Great Plains Chemicals and Fumigation Services in cooperation with Texas A&M Agrilife Extension service.
Topics covered include: preparing for your inspections, weed and insect control, fumonisin, and fumigants.
The meeting will take place at the KoKo Palace, 5201 Ave Q in Lubbock, TX. There is a $20 registration fee that includes lunch. Five (5) Agricultural CEUs will be offered (1 Laws and Regs, 2 IPM, and 2 General) as well as 1 Structural CEU (1 Weed Control).
To attend the workshop, please pre-register by Wednesday, April 25, 2018. You can pre-register online here or email eric@meersco.com or call 806-745-3737.
